Obituary for Mott Blair Dennis, Jr.

Mott passed away October 3, 2015. He was born June 3, 1929 to Mott Blair Dennis, Sr and Estelle Staley Dennis in Troy, N.C. Mott attended Lees-McRay College in Banner Elk, N.C. on a football scholarship.

After graduation he enlisted in the United States Air Force and served in the Korean War. After the war he returned to Troy and married Hazel Smith. They were married for 49 years and had three daughters, Mary Lynn, Beth and Julie.

Mott was employed by General Electric Co. for 19 years as a restaurant equipment salesman. In 1976 Mott moved the family to Tulsa for a career change and to open his new restaurant, Western Sizzlin Steak House. By the time he retired, he and Hazel had owned six restaurants in the Tulsa and surrounding area. After Hazel passed away, Mott moved to Monkey Island on Grand Lake where he enjoyed his many friends and going around the lake in his pontoon boat called "The Mottley Crew". Mott will be remembered for his zest for life, his friendliness, his love and generosity.

He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Hazel and daughters, Nancy Beth Dennis and Julie Dennis Sondgeroth. He is survived by his sister Blondell Tucker, daughter Mary Lynn Kaiser and husband John, grandchildren Beth Kaiser, Mike Kaiser, Amy Kaiser, Taryn Sondgeroth Watson and husband Matt and Michael Sondgeroth.

Visitation will be 9:00 AM til 9:30 AM, Saturday, October 10, 2015 at Moore's Southlawn, 9350 E. 51st, Tulsa, OK. Service will be 10:00 A.M., Saturday, October 10, 2015 at Moore's Southlawn Chapel. Moore's Southlawn
