Donald Arthur Julius Yerks was born November 20, 1923, Kimball, Minnesota, the second of five children born to Arthur Julius Yerks and Bertha Anna Marie Thiede. He was married Mavis Elvera Olson. There were four children born to Don and Mavis, Loren Arthur, LuAnn Mavis, Carol Jean and a boy Kevin Donald Yerks born June 15, 1955 and died June 20, 1955.
Donald passed away in Minneapolis on September 30, 2015. He was preceded in death by his wife Mavis, son Kevin, brother Marvin, sister Helen, and is survived by brother Les, sister Fern. He was also preceded in death by brothers-in-law Ray Groskreutz, John (Jack)Groskeutz, uncle Alfred Thiede of Grand Forks, North Dakota. he was survived by son Loren Yerks, daughter LuAnn Yerks, Carol Jean Yerks, and many nieces and nephews, and Kenneth Thiede, a cousin from Bismarck, ND
