Ellis “Pete” Hardaway, of Pickens, passed away Friday October 2, 2015 at the DeQueen Therapy and Living Center. He was born April 7, 1931, the son of Joseph “Joe” and Vicie Blankenship Hardaway.

Pete was a “Cowboy” and a true “Rambling Man.” He really loved to roam, but he especially loved Montana, Wyoming and Utah. He never said the word “Bye”. He loved horses and he set a horse like he was born on it. He really enjoyed hunting and fishing.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Billy Hardaway; brothers, Barney Hardaway, Bill Hardaway and Orville Hardaway; sisters, Pearl Cross and Dauthine Axton.

Pete was survived by his children, Jane and Loyd Dunlap of Cloudy, Leo and Janice Hardaway of Arizona, Becky and Darryl Dagenhart of Pickens, Kerry and Lisa Hardaway of Bethel, Lloyd and Shannon Hardaway of Horatio; brothers and sisters-in-law, Raymond and Beverly Hardaway of Battiest and Junior and Lou Hardaway of Hugo; sisters, Dixie Holmes of Pickens and Viedas Whisenhunt of Atoka; grandchildren, Michael Hardaway, Mary Ann Hardaway, James Hardaway, Rebecca Hardaway, Scott Switzer, Thomas Dagenhart, John Dagenhart, Shelisa Dagenhart, Andrew Hardaway, Korryn Hardaway, Cody Hardaway, Timothy Hardaway and Matthew Hardaway; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, October 5, 2015 at the Assembly of God Church at Pickens with Bro. Larry Morris officiating. Interment with follow in the County Line Cemetery at Pickens.
