Faith Helen Best; age 95; of Alma; passed away Thursday October 1, 2015 at Rosewood Nursing home in Ithaca. Funeral Services will be Monday October 5, 2015 at 1 p.m. at the Coe Church of Christ with Lane Hasslock officiating, Burial will be in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday, October 4, 2015 from 3 to 8 p.m. at the Coe Church of Christ in Coe. Faith was born December 12, 1919 in St. Louis the daughter of Elmer and Vera (Henry) Cresswell. She married Fred C. Best, February 17, 1940 in St. Louis, he preceded her in death in 1974. Faith graduated from Central Michigan College and was a teacher in various county schools and was a teacher for the Alma Public Schools retiring 1983. She was a member of the Coe Church of Christ and had been very active with the Food For Friends in Gratiot County. Faith loved to travel with family and friends. She is survived by her son, Richard (Karen) Best of Alma; daughter-in-law, Faye Best of Howell; 11 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren; and 5 great great grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Dorothy Cresswell of Almont. Faith was preceded in death by her parents; son, Douglas Best; a granddaughter, Samantha Best; and 3 brothers, John, Richard and Hugh Best. Memorials may be given to the Coe Church of Christ or the Gratiot County Commission on Aging. The Berry Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.
