Ross Hendricks Smith, 77, long-time resident of Garden City, passed away Wednesday, April 9, 1997 at the Logan Regional Hospital from complications following surgery. He was born September 21, 1919 in Logan, the second of seven children to Parley and Florence Smith. He married Melva Scrowther September 29, 1939, but later divorced. After returning from World War II, he married Mildren Hansen Sept. 5, 1947, and the marriage was later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple August 2, 1966. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was a very kind and loving husband, father and grandfather.
Ross is survived by his wife, Mildred, and his children, Cathy Weston of Lander, WY., Ann Weston of Garden City and DeeAnn Berres of Florida from his first marriage. He is also survived by four sisters, Gwen Cunha of Arkansas, Virginia Brown of Brigham City, Collen Curtis of Logan and Joann Smith of Ogden. He was proceded in death by his parents and one brother.
Funeral services were held Saturday, April 12 in the Bear Lake Ward Chapel in Garden City. Interment was in the Garden City Cemetery.
