Betty Hayes passed peacefully September 27th, 2015. She was born 84 years ago in Dayton, OH. She resided 43 years in the Washington DC area, moving to Jacksonville in 2004.

Betty selflessly served the Lord and her community over the years, working in many volunteer positions including Hospice in Maryland and West Virginia, Alzheimer's benefits at Cecil Pines and most recently a volunteer for Seniors on a Mission, among many others. More than anything, Betty lived to help others.

Betty is survived by her 3 children, Norma Bouyiouclis (Nick), Mark Hayes (Renee), and Carla Myers (Robert); 6 grandchildren, Tish Hayes, Eric (Michelle), Hayley Kolb, Robert Myers, Nicholas Bouyiouclis, and Cecilia Ross; 4 great- grandchildren, Kaylee and Lily Hayes-Collins, Jason Leggett and Charles Nicholson. She was predeceased by her son Robert Hayes (Mary) and loving husband Carl W. Hayes.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, October 1st in the Chapel at Florida Christian Senior Apartments, 1115 Edgewood Ave S, Jacksonville, FL 32205. A Graveside Service will be held at a later date at Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, VA. Services under the direction and care of Quinn-Shalz Family Funeral Home.
