Lieutenant, 5th Regiment, United States Infantry. Graduated from West Point Military Academy as the 21st in his class, July 17, 1814. Entered the army as a 2nd Lieutenant of artillery, with a transfer to the 5th Infantry in June 1821. Thanks to Stonewall from the FindAGrave forums for the information on this soldier.
