1923 - 2015
Taylorsville, UT-Heaven has another angel. Our precious mother, grandma, great-grandma, aunt, and friend, Alda C. Slaughter, has been called home to be with our Father in heaven and all the loved ones that have gone on before her. What a beautiful reunion it must be.
She was born to William Henry and Eva Elvina Arnell Crossley on August 22, 1923 in St. Charles, Idaho. She married Max LeRoy Slaughter on October 25, 1952. Together they were blessed with and raised 11 children. Mom was such a joy to be around and was loved by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her spirit, great sense of humor, and laughter brightened every room she walked into. Mom had been blessed with many brothers and sisters that she loved so very dearly. She taught her children to always stay close and love one another. The friendships she developed throughout her 92 years were cherished and they loved her just the same.
Alda is survived by her children, daughter-in-law Doris Slaughter; Darlene (Burt) Applegate; Darwin (Bev) Slaughter; Pauline Jones; Dan (Debbie) Adkins; Russ (Deb) Adkins; Maxine (Mike) Jarmon; John (Bonnie) Slaughter; Denise (Mike) McConkay; Hal (Connie) Slaughter; Les (Teresa) Slaughter; and many, many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, and son Raymond Slaughter, four brothers, and three sisters.
Funeral services will be held at Redwood Memorial Mortuary (6500 South Redwood Road, West Jordan, Utah) on Wednesday, September 30, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. A viewing will be held the night before from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. and hour prior to the funeral service. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the hospice care program of your choice is greatly appreciated. -
