The Gridley Twice-A-Week Herald, Wednesday, November 3, 1920, pg 1 col 7: Granddaughter of Brigham Young Passes Away Here. Mrs. George F. Wright, Gridley matron, and granddaughter of Brigham Young, famous leader and president of the early Mormon church, died at the family home in this city last Sunday morning from heart failure, following an illness of several years. Death was not expected and came as a decided shock to the family and friends although they knew the deceased to be in poor health. Mrs. Wright came to Gridley with her husband and children about ten years ago. Since that time the family as resided here off and on, recently returning to Gridley after spending eighteen months at Auburn where they have property. Previous to coming to California the Wright family lived at Logan, Utah.
The deceased was a woman of many accomplishments, being a pianist of ability and was very well educated.
Mrs. Wright was born in Salt Lake City, her father being a son of Brigham Young, November 7, 1872, and at the time of her death she was 47 years, 11 months and 14 days old. The deceased is survived by her husband and seven daughters. Mrs. Arthur Dewsnup, and the Misses Adelaid, Gene, Gertrude, Mary, Martha and Alice Wright.
The funeral will be held Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the local Latter Day Saints church, and interment will take place in Live Oak cemetery at Gridley.

The Gridley Twice-A-Week Herald, Saturday, November 6, 1920, pg 1 col 3: Funeral of Mrs. Wright Held Thursday Afternoon. The funeral of the late Mrs. George F. Wright, who passed away at the family home here last Sunday morning, was held Thursday afternoon from the local Latter Day Saints church, Elder E.O. Clark officiating. A vocal solo was sung by Mrs. A. Gattiker and a number of selections were rendered by the choir. The Misses Lenore Davis, Verna Evans, Minnie Scott and Merl Chesley acted as flower girls. The following acted as pall bearers: J.B. Davis, Joseph Cameron, Frank Dewsnup, Chas. Swan, Melvin Clark, and S.A. Barrow. Interment was made in Live Oak cemetery at Gridley. A large procession of friends and neighbors followed the remains to the grave.
