John the son of Arnold and Emma Borer grew up with his siblings: Arnold, Joseph L., Werner P., and Ernest. (John’s parents were born in Switzerland.)
John married Vivian Pulvirenti and together raised their children: John Jr. and Wayne.
John worked at Ferguson Electric as the Manager of the Shipping and Receiving Department. He took material and equipment orders from the Engineers and Foremen on the job. John made sure the trucks were loaded with the proper material and equipment so all projects large and small had the materials needed for the electricians to complete the job. John also made sure there was always enough inventory on hand. He also maintained the trucks so they were mechanically sound and always spotless inside and out like they just came off the showroom floor. John also kept the Shipping and Receiving Bay, inventory area, and Shipping Office spotless. He also maintained the office building.
John’s nickname was ‘chief’. The previous manager was affectionately called ‘chief’. He was a Native American and was in-charge of the Shipping and Receiving. Somehow the name stuck to John.
John was promoted to Assistant Purchasing Agent after Tony Russo got sick.
John was a ‘fatherly figure’ to the young men and women who worked at Ferguson Electric. He always had fatherly advice when it was needed by someone. John had a happy personality. He would make light of any serious problem that arose at work to lighten the mood. John had a very good sense of humor. He always had a smile on his face.
John, his wife Vivian, and his sons were excellent cooks. The women on the office staff at Ferguson Electric often asked John for cooking tips and recipes. John and Vivian were great dancers. They glided together over the dance floor--a fun couple to watch dance.
John was a Christian Roman Catholic devoted to his family. He always would help anyone who needed a hand. John was loved and well-respected by everyone at Ferguson Electric.
Rest in Peace.
