Margaret was the daughter of Malachi Couchman and his 2nd wife Mary Giltner.

Margaret married John Liter Aug 7, 1824 in Bourbon Co KY. Her mother died 1808
and her father in 1818. Her older half-brother Peter Couchman was bondsman on
the marriage license.

Margaret and John Liter had 12 children, 9 born in KY and 3 more in IL after they
moved there in 1842.
