Joe Albright, 92, Church Hill, Route 4, died Friday in Hawkins County Memorial Hospital following a brief illness. He was born and raised in Hancock County and moved to Church Hill several years ago. He was a retired farmer. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Ada Albright; two daughters, Mrs. Jay Duncan, Church Hill, and Mrs. W.H. Cleek, Kingsport; three sons, Gaines Albright, Rogersville, Willard Albright, Piedmont, S.C., Nelson Albright, Middletown, Va.; two step-daughters, Mrs. Mayfree Byington, Church Hill, and Mrs. Elizabeth Albright, Rogersville; a step-son, Henry Woods, Indiana. Three children born to the first marriage are deceased.
Services were held Sunday at 2 p.m. in Wilson funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Herman Christian officiating. Burial was in Holston View Cemetery, Weber City, Scott Co., Va.
Joseph Albright married first Ida Minerva Anderson, daughter of Peter Mitchell Anderson and Sylvania C. Durham Bowen Anderson. Their marriage was blessed with eight children, Elizabeth, Garvie, Myrtle, Lydia, Nelson, Willard, G.B. (Gaines Bliss) and Woodrow. Joe married second Ada Guinn Woods. They had no children.
