Sad Death at Wandandian
Early on Monday morning Mrs. Mathie, wife of Mr. John Mathie, of Wandandian, and daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Watt, of Plunkett Street, Nowra, died very suddenly. The deceased lady, with her husband and members of the family, came into Nowra on Sunday last. The husband, who is an Elder of the Presbyterian Church, and two sons attended the morning service in that church, while Mrs. Mathie remained with her mother. She was then apparently in her usual state of health. The family returned to their home in the afternoon. During the night Mrs. Mathie took suddenly ill, and Dr. Rodway was sent for. He lost no time in reaching Wandandian, and found Mrs. Mathie suffering from kidney trouble. He prescribed for her, but she did not improve, and while the doctor was still in the house, she passed away. The deceased lady was a native of Wandandian, and was held in very high esteem, not only by residents in that locality, but right throughout the district. General sympathy is felt for the family and wide circle of relatives in their sudden bereavement.
