Funeral services for Dr. William B. Burgess of Omaha, an Albion dentist 40 years, were Wednesday afternoon in the Albion Congregational church, Rev. I. C. G. Campbell officiating.
William Bowman Burgess was born Sept. 23, 1878, in York county. After being graduated from the dental department of the University of Omaha April 28, 1905, he practiced dentistry in Central City. He and Laura Grace Kendall were married there July 18, 1906, and the following year they moved to Albion. He practiced until 1947, then moved to Bellevue and later to Omaha to be with his children. He died in Omaha April 1.
Mr. Burgess was a member of the Albion Congregational church, and the Masons, Knights of Pythias, Modern Woodmen and Eastern Star.
Survivors include children Eugenia Marcum of Merced, Calif., William C. of Omaha, Omer K. of Minneapolis and Dr. W. B. of Oak Ridge, Tenn.; sisters Ethel Newman of Julesburg, Colo., Ena Erns of Cottage Grove, Ore., Hattie Stouffer of Hastings, Anna McCurrin of Marquette; brothers Omar of Twin Falls, Idaho, Dr. L. A. of O'Neill, Charles C. of Polk and Dr. G. W. of Twin Falls, Idaho and 8 grandchildren.
