Garry Alan Boros, age 61, of Fairmont, passed away on Thursday, September 24, 2015 at Tygart Center at Fairmont Campus. He was born September 6, 1954 at Fairmont, son of the late Louis Steve Boros Jr. and Mary Jane Masters Boros.

He is survived by his sister, Dottie and her husband, Robert Michael of Mannington; a brother, David Boros and his wife Patty of Grafton; three nieces, Samantha Booth of Farmington, Terrie Bowers of Barrackville and Jessica Ashley of Fairview; a nephew, Michael Boros of Monongah.

In addition to his parents, Garry was predeceased by his wife, Sandra Merriman.

Several years ago, he was dispatcher for the Mannington City Police. He did some auto mechanic work when physically able. He enjoyed going to antique car shows, and liked fishing. A memorable moment was when he carried the Torch for the 2001 Olympics in Uniontown, PA.

Family and friends may call Sunday, September 27, 2015 from 11:00am to 1:00pm at Masters Funeral Home, 209 Main St., Mannington, WV. Funeral services will be held in the Funeral Home at 1:00 p.m. with Hospice Care Chaplain, Rev. David Spence officiating. The casket will remain closed for the visitation and funeral service. Burial will follow at Mannington Memorial Park Cemetery.

His father's remains were not recovered from the explosion of the Farmington Number 9 mine disaster. He was a loading machine operator and worked at this mine for twenty years. He left widow Mary Jane, and three children aged 14, 5, and 2 years of age.
