According to "The Zabriskie Family" by George O Zabriskie - Rachel Jane was the daughter of David Van Houten and Rachel Snyder. Rachel Snyder's mother was a Hopper, as well as her great-grandmother. Her family line as has a few Zabriskie family members as well.

Rachel Jane Hopper was baptized at Saddle River Reformed Church, the daughter of Garret Hopper and Martha Zabriskie, the only date given at the baptism was 4 Sep 1861. From age at death on gs. she was born 4 Sep 1861, the only date given at her baptism) .

Her mother was Martha Lutkins Zabriskie, the daughter of Garret H. Zabriskie and Rachel Ann Lutkins, born 26 October 1843, in New Jersey and baptized 10 December 1843, at Paramus Dutch Reformed Church (p.101). On 3 July 1860, "Garret I. Hopper, aged 23, married 1) Martha L. Zabriskie age 16. in the parsonage of Paramus Dutch Reformed Church (II p.38). The Christian Intelligencer said they were both of New York. They later divorced.

Gravesite Details

On the 7th of January 1949, several bodies were disinterred from the True Paramus Dutch Reformed Church Cemetery and reinterred to the George Washington Memorial Cemetery in Paramus, NJ. Out of 531, 503 bodies were transferred to GWMP.
