Michael Meehan Duffy, 69, departed this life on Friday night, September 18th, 2015 at JoAnne’s House Hope Healthcare Center in Bonita Springs, Florida after battling a long and courageous fight with cancer.
Mike was born on April 21st, 1946 in Dayton, Ohio to Joseph Patrick Duffy and Virginia Kathryn Robinson Duffy Stahl. Michael was a graduate of Chaminade High School in Dayton, Ohio, Class of 1964. He attended Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio during the 1964-1965 class year. Following that year of studies he proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy for 10 years, 2 years active duty and 8 years reserve duty.
Michael was a huge fan of 1950’s and 1960’s music. Some of his favorite performers of those eras were: Elvis Presley, The Platters, Chuck Berry, Fats Domino, The Big Bopper, The Temptations, Richie Valens and The Four Seasons, Sam and Dave and Mick Jagger and The Rolling Stones. He was also very talented in art and writing poetry. He coached football for the Catholic Youth Organization at Precious Blood School in Dayton, Ohio from 1968-1972. Also played for teams in Fort Myers, Florida in the late 1980’s and early 1990’s. And least we forget that Michael was a die-hard OHIO STATE FOOTBALL FAN. HE LOVED HIS BUCKEYES!
