Clemson, SC - John Henry Marvin, 94, of Clemson and husband for 63 years of Lurleen Patricia Knox Marvin, died Wednesday, March 26, 2014 at the Cottingham Hospice House in Seneca, SC.

Born in Colleton County, he was a son of the late Edith Belle Cone and John Henry Marvin, Sr. He was retired as Professor Emeritus of Textiles following 38 years at Clemson University. He wrote a book "Textile Processing, Volume I", which was used as a textbook on textiles in secondary schools. He was a graduate of Clemson University and was a US Army veteran of WWII. He was also a member of Clemson United Methodist Church.

Surviving in addition to his wife are a son, Jerry Cone Marvin (Colleen) of Covington, WA; daughter, Betty Marvin Huggins (Charles "Spoon") of Starr, SC; grandchildren, Chuck, Clay and Cody; great-grandchildren, Meadow, Talia and Tessa.

He was predeceased by two brothers, Turner and Ralph Marvin of Lobeco, SC.

In accordance to his wishes, the family has chosen cremation with no services.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers memorials may be made to OMH Foundation, Cottingham Hospice House, 298 Memorial Drive, Seneca, SC 29672.
