His Service Number Private/79. He served in the 1st Battalion, Australian Inf, AIF. He was born at Bingara near Tamworth, New South Wales on the 4th of January 1898. He enlisted at Copeton, New South Wales. He embarked from Sydney for Devonport per the H.M.A.T "Marathon," on the 4th of May 1916. He proceeded to Etaples in France on the 16th of September 1916. He was originally listed as missing in action on the 5th of November 1916. Later a court of enquiry found he was Killed in action on the 5th of November 1916 aged 18 years. Albert is the Son of Alfred Ernest and Ellen Govers, of Copeton, New South Wales. (Bio by kc.byrne)
