It was a message of sorrow that came to friends in this city last Thursday evening announcing that Mrs. Josie Robnett, wife of our townsman, Mr. J. H. Robnett, was dead.

On account of her failing health she was taken to Roff, Oklahoma, several days before with the hope that a change would prove beneficial. For a time it seemed that her health improved, but last Wednesday she grew worse rather suddenly, and slowly but surely her life faded away until Thursday evening at 6:45 when her sufferings were ended by death.

The remains reached the old home Friday afternoon, and Saturday afternoon the funeral was conducted by her pastor, Rev. E. L. Moore. As the sun slowly sank behind the western hills at the close of the day the body was consigned to its resting place in Oakwood while many relatives and friends bowed their heads in deepest sorrow.

Mrs. Robnett was a daughter of Joseph H. Smith, (Uncle Joe) one of the early settlers of Honey Grove and the town's first major.

She was born July 22, 1862, and was married to J. H. Robnett August 2, 1882.

For many years she had been a member of the Presbyterian church and hers was a beautiful, consistent Christian life. There is sorrow here because a noble Christian woman, the loving center of her home and the favorite of a large circle of friends, has departed, but beyond the dark river there is joy because her gentle spirit is with the blest.

Her husband and three children survive her.

May He who alone can speak peace to the troubled sustain them in their time of sorrow.
