Mrs. Katie Collins, 92, of Honey Grove, TX, passed away Monday, September 21, 2015 at the Paris Regional Medical Center. A private family burial service is planned for 10:00AM, Wednesday, September 23, 2015 at Oakwood Cemetery in Honey Grove, with Rev. Jerry Smith presiding. A public memorial service with family visitation will be held at 6:00 PM, September 23, 2015 at the Dial Baptist Church with Rev. Jerry Smith presiding.
Katie Elizabeth Wicks Collins was born November 2, 1922 in Clarksville, TX to Fred and Mona (Crockett) Parker. Katie married the love of her life, John H. Wicks on March 21, 1938 in Gladewater, TX and they were owners and operators of a photography studio They shared a beautiful life together of 52 years until his death in 1990. She and John were members of the Dial Baptist Church where they were very active in their service to the Lord. Their home was always open to help the church and several young pastors, family and friends. She later married Earl Collins in 1992 and he preceded her in death in 2000.
Mrs. Collins is preceded in death by her parents, husband, John H. Wicks, three brothers, three sisters, one great grandchild, one great-great grandchild, husband Earl Collins and late son-in-law, Jimmy Doyle.
Katie was loved and adored as a wife, Mom, Mema and Mema Katie by her loving family.
