The Zahrbock funeral home of Madison, MN announces the death of 89 year old Delores Brandt of Nassau who passed away on Tuesday July 12 at the Ortonville Hospital. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 16, 2016 at 10:30 a.m., in St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Nassau, MN. Rev. David Hall will officiate with the concluding service and burial in the church cemetery east of Nassau. The Brandt family will great friends on Friday afternoon from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m., in the Chapel of the Zahrbock Funeral Home in Madison. Visitation will continue before services on Saturday in the church. Delores Brandt is survived by her children; Barb (Glenn) Folk of Milbank and Mike (Linda) Brandt of Revillo. She is also survived by 6 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Delores Grace (Granquist) Brandt was born on June 24, 1927, in Stockholm, SD to Albert and Weltha (Anderson) Granquist. She was baptized and confirmed at Stockholm Covenant Church. Delores grew up attending country school for 8 years and graduated from Strandburg High School in 1945. After high school, she worked at Mittelstad’s department store in Milbank, SD. On November 5, 1948, she was united in marriage to Orville (PV) Brandt. To this union were born a daughter and son: Barbara and Michael, also born were 3 daughters deceased at birth. The couple raised their 2 children on various farms in rural area of Nassau, MN. When Delores and Orville retired they moved in town to Nassau. Her final residing residence was Northridge Nursing Home, Ortonville MN. The greatest joy of Delores’s life was time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Delores enjoyed planting her vegetable and flower gardens and sharing it with others. Delores loved baking and feeding friends and family anytime they visited, she always had a pot of coffee ready to be made. She also enjoyed reading, cross-stitching, word find puzzles and playing bingo. Delores died on Tuesday, July 12, 2016 at the Ortonville Hospital, Ortonville MN. She is survived by her daughter, Barbara (and Glenn) Folk of Milbank, SD and son, Michael (and Linda) Brandt of Revillo, SD, 6 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 3 daughters in infancy and 2 brothers, Carl and Glenn.
