Doris Hill, 83, longtime Guymon resident passed away Monday morning, September 21, 2015 at the Baptist St. Anthony’s Hospital in Amarillo, Texas.

The daughter of Lee Allen and Edna Mae (McCammon) Alberty, Doris Mae Alberty was born December 26, 1931 in Webb City, Oklahoma. Doris attended school at Kaw City and moved to the Guymon area in 1948.

Doris and Edward Marvin Hill were united in marriage on June 4, 1948 in Clayton, New Mexico. Doris was a homemaker and active member of the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, where she loved being involved in wherever she could help. She enjoyed crocheting and participating in the church quilting club, as well as volunteering at Loaves & Fishes.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Marvin on January 14, 1994; her daughter, Gwendolyn Searcy on October 22, 2014; three sisters: Wilma McGrew, Lucille Hutchison and LeEtta Dillow; and six brothers: Larry, Bill, Allen, Jack, Richard and Carl Alberty.

Survivors include her daughter, Dianna Carter and husband, Garry of Guymon; her son, Edward M. Hill, Jr. and wife, Kim of Pampa, Texas; her son-in-law, Jesse Searcy of Guymon; five grandchildren: Garry Lee Carter and wife, Shellie of Guymon, Tisha Blasingame and husband, Cleet of Hardesty, OK, Dillon Hill and wife, Emily of Cypress, TX, Lexi Milligan and husband, Brandon of Pampa, TX, and Telton Searcy and wife, Stephanie of Seattle, WA; eleven great grandchildren; six great great grandchildren; one sister, Credia Givens and husband, John of San Tan Valley, AZ; numerous nieces and nephews and a very special friend, Chuck Griffin of Guymon.

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday morning, September 24th at 10:00 a.m. at the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church with Pastor Mark Wescoatt officiating. Interment will follow at the Elmhurst Cemetery in Guymon. Services are under the care of the Bunch – Roberts Funeral Home of Guymon.

The family will greet friends at the funeral home on Wednesday evening, September 23rd from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. They request that memorials in Doris’ name be made to the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran. Memorials will be accepted at the church office or in care of the funeral home, PO Box 1112, Guymon, OK 73942.
