Parents unknown. Widow of N.D. Salisbury; Curry and Sons Funeral Home in Dyersburg was in charge of burial. She died of Chronic Bronchial Asthma, Acute Heart Failure due to Asthma. Her son A.D Salisbury was informant on DC.

Sarah Ellen Gleason was the first of three children of Rufus Gleason (1827-1863), who died in the Civil War, and Mary Jane Hanes (1829-1869). Her first husband was W.A. Moore (married 1878). They had a daughter, Lena A. Moore, born in Texas in 1880. After the birth of Lena the Moore family decided to move to Tennessee where Sarah's husband had family. She went ahead of him and he was to ride there on horseback but he never showed up. They later found out that he had died (source: Jerry Gleason). Sarah married Noah Salisbury in 1883.
