Harley R. Luce, 76, of 719 1/2 9th Ave. S. died today at Mercy Hospital after a brief illness.

Mass of the Christian Burial will be at 10 AM Wednesday at St. Irenaeus Church with the Rev. Richard Von Ah officiating. Burial will be in the Oakland Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 9 PM Tuesday at Shadduck-Cannon Funeral Home with a parish wake service held at 7:30 PM. A prayer service will be held at 9:30 AM Wednesday at the funeral home.

Mr. Luce was born Dec 5, 1903 in Dayton, IL to Leroy and Nellie McGrogan Luce. He married Helen Londroche, Dec 5, 1923 in Morrison. He worked for the Clinton Lock Company for many years and retired from Central Steel Tube Co. in 1962. He was a member of St. Irenaeus church.

He is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Pat Farley, Mrs. Valeria Webb and Mrs. Doris Primes all of Clinton; one sone James, Clinton, 17 grandchildren, four great grandchildren; and two brothers, William and Tom, Clinton.

He was preceded in death by his wife in July 1977 and three grandchildren.
