Susanne H. Campbell, 77, of Superior, passed away in the morning of Thursday, Sept. 10, 2015, at her home of natural causes, surrounded by her two sons.

Susanne was born the Feb. 8, 1938, in Norwich, New York, to Kenneth and Helen Bailey.

She then moved with her family to Mesa, Arizona, where she went to school and became a member of the school’s archery team. After graduating from high school Sue attended college for two years in Tempe.

After college Sue and her family moved to a ranch at Tarkio. Sue found work at the Mineral County Courthouse where she worked for the county for four years. She also worked for the Superior schools and was a kindergarten alternate for a number of years. Susanne found true love with Buddy Campbell and spent 56 years married to each other until death separated them.

After marrying Buddy, they moved to the country and started a mink ranch. During her time on Earth, Sue was a member of the Mineral County Museum, Historical Society and the Superior Garden Club. She entered her farm-grown vegetables and flowers in the local county fair. She took pride in growing and cultivating blue ribbon vegetables, a trait she passed on to her two sons, David and Dale.

On the summer weekends she liked to go to her parents house on Flathead Lake have picnics with brothers, Ken, Charlie and family. She also liked to go fishing and have picnics up the creeks with her family. She loved to pick huckleberries and had an uncanny eye for finding precious stones. Sue was a selfless woman when it came to helping other people out, especially young folks where she would give them homemade cakes and treats.

Sue was preceded in death by her father and mother, Kenneth and Helen Baily; brother Kenneth W. Bailey and her husband Buddy Campbell. She is survived by her brother Charles Bailey (Linda) of Wickenburg, Arizona; her two sons, David (Diana) and Dale of Superior; nieces, Shelia Bailey of Columbia Falls and Julie Bailey of Boise, Idaho; nephew Chris Bailey of San Diego; grandchildren, Ryann (Cory) Rugg, Racquel (Kyle) Rausch, Brian (Caitlin) Campbell, Dan Campbell, Matt Campbell; eight great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to Mineral County Museum, P.O. Box 533, Superior, MT 59872, or charity of donors choice.

A memorial service on Friday, Sept. 18, at 11 a.m. at United Methodist Church in Superior, with pastor Waveland King officiating. Burial following at Superior Cemetery, reception at United Methodist Church.
