Aaron Frederick Schnelle was the son of Johann Conrod (Conrad) Schnelle and Hanne Sophie CHRISTEANA (Brackmann) Schnelle. Aaron was born in Lauenförde, Hanover, Germany. Aaron immigrated with his parents and 3 siblings on the ship, "Philadelphia" which departed from Bremen, Germany and arrived in Baltimore, MD on September 3, 1834 (Aaron was 6 years old).

Aaron married (1) Sarah Jane Hawkins on September 18, 1851 in Monroe County, Ohio. Aaron and Sarah had 6 children-George Washington Schnelle, John Thomas Schnelle, William Henry Schnelle, Aaron Wesley Schnelle, Benjamin Franklin Schnelle and Sarah Melissa (Schnelle) Stolebarger.

After the death of Aaron's 1st wife, Sarah in 1903, Aaron married a widow, Mary "Polly" J. (Crawford) Cavanaugh Wolgamott on September 15, 1904 Sharon, Barber County, Kansas. Mary moved to Aaron's home in Lemonville, Putnam County, Missouri after their marriage. Mary was the widow of Charles Wesley Cavanaugh. Wesley and Mary had 2 children, America Viola Willard (Cavanaugh) Barbour and Greenville W. Cavanaugh.
