Lewis Grant Aldrich was born July 29, 1846, at Cattaraugus, New York, and passed on 14 June 1930 at his home in Polk. He would of been 84 his next birthday.
In 1853, he moved to Illinois with his parents, and resided there until his marriage, February 16, 1872 with Annie Elizabeth Avery. To this union were born twelve children, Charles A., Walter L., George B., Edward L., Isabel Annie Rolls, Alfred L., William H., Robert H., and Clara Alice Bonifey, all alive, and Alice and Ella (twins), and Lucy M. Riley, deceased.
Beside nine living children he leaves to mourn, his second wife, forty-four grandchildren, and thirty-two great grandchildren.
He moved to Polk County Nebraska, in March of 1883 and has resided here ever since.
Annie Elizabeth Aldrich, his first wife, died September 13, 1917. He was married again March 24, 1921, to Mary Boost, of Huntington county, Pennsylvania,
" Dearest Daddy you have left us. And your loss we deeply feel. But it was God that has be kept us, He can all our sorrows heal.
