According to her Missouri State death certificate, she was born on 8 Jun 1850 in Sardis, Mississippi to Jeff Meek, and her deceased husband was Rufas Allen. Her prior husband, and father of her children, was William A Jones

According to her obituary, she was the mother of Edward H, Charles D and Samuel W Jones, dear sister, sister-in-law, mother-in-law, grandmother and aunt, in her 72nd year (St. Louis Post-Dispatch, St. Louis, Missouri, Sunday, December 11, 1921, p.97). She was also the mother of Harriet Jones Savage, who died before her and is buried next to her
