Richard E. 'Hum' Dinger, 76, of Mansfield, died Saturday morning, April 8, 2006, at Triumph Hospital. He was born August 20, 1929, in Mansfield, the son of Martin R. and Ellen Kasper Dinger. He was a 1948 graduate of St. Peter's High School. Mr. Dinger worked 29 ½ years of service at Mansfield Tire and Rubber Company, and also at Tappan Company. He ultimately retired as Deputy Clerk of Courts for the City of Mansfield. He was a veteran of the Korean War serving with the U.S. Army.
He is survived by his wife, Carole Jones Dinger; two sons and daughters-in-law, Martin and Lisa Dinger and Alan and Jan Dinger, all of Mansfield; a daughter and son-in-law, Elaine and Eugene McCarrick of Mansfield; four grandchildren, Dustin, Emily, Andrew and Megan; an uncle, Robert Kasper of Mansfield; two aunts, Florence Schacherer of Mansfield and Aggie Loeckel of Florida; and numerous cousins. His parents preceded him in death.
Memorial Mass will be held 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 12, 2006, at St. Peter's Catholic Church. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the mass at church. The Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors assisted the family with arrangements.
