Born January 14, 1960 to Margaret and Joseph Bandilla in Carmichael.

He attended Jesuit High School.

Kurt married Cheryl Lynn Sheeders on July 19, 1980. Kurt was a manager in the grocery business until his retirement in 2014. He had recently begun working at the Bass Pro Shop in Rocklin, which supported his love of the outdoors.

Kurt was active in the Placer County Search and Rescue organization for many years, where he trained volunteers in outdoor survival skills and was awarded a Gold Medal of Valor for his service.

An avid baseball fan, he enjoyed coaching and supporting youth sports. He loved spending time with his family and dogs Tanna and Sabot.

His favorite place to be was in the mountains fishing, camping and hiking.

Kurt is survived by his loving wife, Cheryl, and children Brooke, Bryce and Jacob, in which his example and legacy live on. He leaves a brother, David (Cindy) of Foresthill and many family members and close friends.

He will surely be missed and never forgotten.

Kurt was preceded in death by his parents.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, September 26, 2015 at Sun River Church, 11223 Trinity River Drive, Rancho Cordova with a reception to immediately follow.
