Nancy Lee Saving, 68, Chanute, passed away Thursday, September 17, 2015, at the University of Kansas Medical Center.

Nancy was born June 4, 1947, in Salina, Kan., the daughter of Richard Lee “Dick” and Charlene Loree (Limes) Boman. She grew up in Sunray, Texas until she was 11 and the family moved to Iola. She graduated from Iola High School in 1965.

On December 4, 1966, Nancy married John L. Saving in Iola. They have made their home in Chanute since then. She worked at Don Divine’s Restaurant and later as mailroom supervisor for the Chanute Tribune.

Nancy was a member of Healing Center Church of God in Chanute and had served as president of their women’s group. She was active in Girl Scouts through high school in Iola. She had a passion for horses, owning several and showing Arabian Horses. She served as Past President of the Chanute Bit & Spurs Saddle Club and was Roy Rogers’ number one fan!

SURVIVORS:
Her husband: John Saving, of the home; 1 son: Kyle Saving and wife, Cheryl, Carthage, Mo.; 1 sister: Martha McKinney and husband, Chris, Chanute; 5 grandchildren: Cody, Clayton, Levi and Bryanna Saving and Ashley Colston and husband, Mat; 2 great-grandchildren: Matthew and Olivia; Numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her uncle Jack Boman.

VISITATION: 6-8 pm Monday, Sept. 21, 2015, at Healing Center Church of God, 35th & Plummer, Chanute.

FUNERAL SERVICE: 1:30 pm Tuesday, Sept. 22, 2015, at Healing Center Church of God, 35th & Plummer, Chanute.

BURIAL: In the Moran Cemetery, Moran.
