Daughter of Mary Frances Woods, of Sewickley, and Capt. David A. MacDonald, of West Economy, one of Pittsburgh's first coal merchants, wife of Josef H. Buerger, IV, they married the 21st Jun 1916, at the bride's house in Beaver, with two reverands officiating. The McDonalds were some of the earliest settlers in Western Pennsylvania and traded with the Indians for land. Julia is also a descendant of General St. Clair.
