Greenleaf Blodgett, Sr., died yesterday at 4:55 p.m. at the Dee hospital in Ogden, Weber County, Utah, following an illness of four weeks. He was born in Sweetwater, Sweetwater, Wyo., Sept. 8, 1850, son of Newman and Elizabeth Reed Blodgett, who were crossing the plains, en route to Utah. With the exception of five years spent in Idaho, Mr. Blodgett had made North Ogden his home all his life.
For 30 years he was sexton of the North Ogden cemetery. He was a member of the L.D.S. church and high priest. His wife died in North Ogden. December 19, 1914. He is survived by one son Greenleaf Jr., three grandchildren and the following brothers and sisters; Ezekiel Blodgett, North Ogden; Mrs. Annie Squires, Montana; Willard Blodgett, Montana; Jess Blodgett, Lorenzo, Idaho.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 2 o'clock in the North Ogden meeting house with Bishop Frederick Barker presiding. The body may be viewed at the residence of the son in North Ogden, Sunday and Monday until time of services. Internment will be in the North Ogden cemetery. Flowers left at Lindquists' parlor until 11 a.m. Monday will be taken to the home of the son in North Ogden.
