Mary Peterson, age 85, of Valley City, ND, died Thursday, September 17th at Mercy Hospital in Valley City. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, September 22nd at St. Catherine's Catholic Church in Valley City. A prayer service will be held at 7:00 PM Monday evening at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Lakota Cemetery, Lakota, ND.

Mary Krawczyk, the daughter of Stanley and Mary (Macijenska) Krawczyk, was born August 14, 1930 in Jamestown, ND. Mary attended a small country school near Fried, ND and later moved to Jamestown to live with her sister Tracy to attend St. John's Catholic School where she graduated in 1948. After her graduation, she moved to Devils Lake, ND where she worked in the accounting department at Mercy Hospital until 1951.

On May 30, 1951 she married Lowell Peterson in Norman, OK. She and her husband lived in Anchorage, AK, Omaha, NB, Fingal, ND and McVille, ND before moving to Valley City. Mary was very active with her church activities, enjoyed sewing, flower gardening and her involvement in the American Legion Auxiliary programs in Valley City.

Mary is survived by her husband Lowell; one daughter, Toni (Monte) Anderson; one son Todd (Kathy) Peterson; four grandchildren.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Tracy and Ann, three brothers, Joe, Walter and Stanley.
