​Samuel apparently was named after his paternal grandfather, ​Samuel Webster Billingsley (1778-1852), who married Elizabeth Snider (1786-1866), who reportedly had at least 13 children.

BURIAL THIS CEMETERY NOT PROVED. It is probable he was buried in Fields Family Cemetery, where his wife was later buried. Graves were moved to Englewood Cemetery abt 1976. There are about 27 graves moved from Fields Cemetery with markers engraved "unknown" adjoining the Billingsley markers, Samuel's is thought to be one of those.
