David Bevier Wiese of Hyde Park, New York passed away on September 13, 2015 at the age of 94 and is survived by his wife of 70 years, Adrienne Keyes Wiese. Also surviving are his children Alice Hauver and her husband Russell of Marion, Virginia, James Wiese and his wife Linda of Vonore, Tennessee, Barbara Harris and her husband Guy of Asbury, New Jersey, and George Wiese and his wife Karen of Tucson, Arizona. Along with his children, he is survived by eight grandchildren; Jeni Hauver, David Hauver, Karen Wiese, Stephen Wiese, Holly Harris, Julie Harris, Benjamin Wiese, and Megan Wiese.

He was born in in Wawarsing, New York on August 14, 1921 to Bertha E. Bevier and G. David Wiese. He graduated from New Paltz High School and Rensselaer PoIytechnic Institute with a degree in electrical engineering. He served as an instructor in the United States Navy during World War II. He was employed by Central Hudson for 38 years as an electrical engineer.

On June 2, 1945 he married the former Adrienne Grace Keyes. They celebrated their 70th anniversary this past June and July with visits from all their children and their families. Each family took them on excursions to their favorite haunts and special places around the Hudson Valley.

He was a member of the Dutch Reformed Church in Poughkeepsie, serving as church sexton, elder deacon church master, member the greater consistory, and was an excellent player on the church dart ball team. He was a New Paltz Huguenot descendent and was very active in both the Huguenot Historical Society and Bevier-Elting Family Association. He was a member of The Adirondack Mountain Club and New York-New Jersey Trail Conference. He was also a member of the Freemasons.

Viewing hours will be on Saturday, September 19 at 10:00am at the Dutch Reformed Church on 70 Hooker Avenue in Poughkeepsie. This will be followed by a service at 11:00 with Pastor Dave Hondorp presiding. A reception at the church will follow. Interment will be at 1:30 at the New Paltz Rural Cemetery. Donations can be made to the Poughkeepsie Dutch Reformed Church Organ Fund.
