Patricia Ann Blackham passed away peacefully on Aug. 30, in the home of her daughter, Carolee Bowen, from complications following a stroke.

She leaves behind four children, 21 grandchildren, and a growing number of great-grandchildren.

Patricia, 82, was a long-time resident of Penn Valley, California, before moving to Evanston, to be near her daughter, Carolee. All four of her children were with her at the time of her passing.

Patricia was born in 1933, in Salt Lake City, Utah. She graduated from South High School in 1951, and attended the University of Utah, where she met her husband, Bruce Blackham. They were married in 1952, in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple.

Patricia and Bruce lived in California until retirement, moved to Salt Lake City, Utah, and then to Penn Valley, California.

Patricia loved hiking and backpacking, singing, playing the flute and the piano, skiing, painting, studying French, family history research, and participating with her husband in humorous sketches.

She loved and was loved by her family. Patricia loved the gospel of Jesus Christ and she was active in the LDS church, performing service there in many capacities over the years.

She was a member of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers. When her children were older, Patricia returned to college and received a medical lab technology degree from Fresno State College, after which she worked as a medical lab technologist.

Arrangements for Patricia’s funeral are attended to by Hooper and Weaver Mortuary, and will be held Saturday, Sept. 5, at 4 p.m., in the LDS chapel at 615 Hollow Way, Nevada City, California.

She will be buried next to her husband, who preceded her in death by 11 years, at 10 a.m. on Tuesday Sept. 8, in the Hooper and Weaver Cemetery, next to the LDS chapel.
