Earl Joseph Beatty was born January 22, 1893 at Auburn, Indiana, where he grew to manhood. He passed away at his home in Bigfork, Montana December 17, 1940 at the age of 47 years. He came to Havre, Montana in 1906 and enlisted from there with the United States Navy in 1917 and served until 1919. On January 2, 1925 he married Miss Audra Coats of Havre.

Mr. Beatty had been in ill health for several years and came to Bigfork nine years ago hoping the change would benefit him.

He is survived by his widow, Mrs Audra Beatty, and their two children, Earl, Jr age 15, and Katheryn Mae, age 13; also three brothers, Glen of Battle Creek, Michigan, Clyde of Great Falls, and Lloyd of Havre; and two sisters, Mable Fredericks of Pleasant Lake, Indiana, and Marie Houston of Johnsville, Michigan.
