He won the bachelor and master degrees in science along with his PhD Degree. He was a member of the Phi Sigma and Sigma Pai, scientific honor societies, and also the American Society of Bacherologists.

Married Carolyn L Cramblitt 8 Jul 1923 in Seattle, King County, Washington

He worked as a professor for four years in the southern branch of the University of Idaho, and his last year he filled the position at Norman. He had recently accepted and offer to teach during the coming summer at the University of Iowa.
Death was caused by a tumor on the brain.
