Ben Foster passed away early Wednesday morning at 12:45 a.m. at his home. He had been in poor health for several years.

Benjamin Burton Foster was born April 26, 1876, on the Maxfield farm north of Sycamore, the son of Colonel and Caroline Phelps Foster. The family moved to the John Chatfield farm when he was two years of age and lived there for 18 years. His father died in 1895 in Kansas. His mother, who is in her 90th year, resides in Lansing, Mich.

On December 14, 1901, he was united in marriage to Olive [sic] E. Colvin in Chicago. For fourteen years he was employed at the Anaconda Wire & Cable Company of this city.

Surviving besides his wife and mother are one daughter, Mrs. Ruth Stephenson, one grandson, Bennie Bruce Stephenson, both at home; one brother, Wesley of Rockford, and numerous nieces and nephews. One brother, Frank of Aurora, preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be held at the Kebil Funeral home Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock with Rev. H. L. Michael, pastor of the Federated church officiating. Burial will be in the Elmwood cemetery.

The body may be viewed at the Kebil Funeral Home until Saturday afternoon.
