Word has been received here of the death of Mrs. Fred Forward of Elkhart, Ind., who passed away Tuesday evening at St. Anthony's Hospital in St. Petersburg, Fla. Mr. and Mrs. Forward had gone south for the winter months, when she became critically ill and was removed to the hospital.

Mrs. Forward, the former Ada Wight of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, was well known and esteemed here, having often visited her sister, the late Mrs. Nellie Garbutt.

Final rites are being arranged at the Rhodes Funeral Home in St. Petersburg.

Ada Louise Wight was born May 10, 1888, in Bowmanville, Ontario, Canada, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Alexander Wight. She was a graduate of the Bowmanville High School and finished her education at the Toronto Normal School. She taught in Toronto and for many years at the McCauley School in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. For several years she was assistant superintendent of music in Edmonton schools.

On February 23, 1951, she was married to Fred W. Forward of Elkhart, Ind. Mrs. Forward possessed the finest traits of character and was loved by everyone who knew her.

Surviving are her husband; one daughter, Dorothy M. Northrop of Detroit, Mich.; a brother, Harvey S. Wight, Czar, Alberta, Canada; a sister, Mrs. H. S. Cobb of Toronto, Ontario, Canada; and a grandson, Jack A. Northrop of Detroit, Mich.

Mrs. Forward was a sister of late Mrs. Nellie R. Garbutt.

Services were held Friday, February 11, at 3:30 p.m. at the Rhodes Funeral Home in St. Petersburg, Fla., with burial in Sycamore, Ill., early next May.
