She was born Jan. 8, 1931, at Custer City, Okla., to Ed Bixby and Myrtle Polk Smith.
Mrs. Becknell was a member of the Joiner Baptist Church where she was a pianist and Sunday school teacher. She had a master's degree in music from Henderson State University. She was a retired music teacher from the South Mississippi County School District.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and husband, William Ray Becknell.
Survivors include her sons, Glen Ray (LeAnn) Becknell of Chanute, Kan., and David Earl (Shelly) Becknell of Jonesboro; grand-children, Brandon Becknell, Walker Becknell and Luke Becknell, all of Chanute, Alissa Becknell of Kansas City, Mo., Brittny Becknell of Parsons, Kan., and Justin Becknell of Lepanto; great-grand-child, Piper Meyer of Whitton; and two brothers, Jimmy Smith of Dallas and Wayne Smith of Cabot.
Funeral services were at Roller-Swift Funeral Home in Osceola with burial in Mississippi County Memorial Gardens.
