The Emporia Weekly News, 31 Oct 1873, Friday
Hartford:
Joseph Duckett has almost completed and ready for occupancy his fine residence on his place adjoining town. Two other Duckett families have recently arrived from Illinois and intend locating with us. There is only a numerical representation of seventeen in the two families. They bring with them considerable means and have enterprise and are not afraid to work. We will be pleased and as far as is consistent with our spare territory, if necessary, make room for the rest of the Duckett family.
