Funeral services for Bernard Crist, 69, widely known Burnside farmer were held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Burnside Baptist church. The Rev. S.C. Blumhagen of Cedar Falls, former Burnside pastor, officiating. Graveside rites and burial took place at Ocheyedan, Ia. At 3:30 p.m.
Mr. Crist was born at Cocksville, Ill., the son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Crist. At the age of 19 he came to Burnside, Iowa and in June, 1915 married Miss Luella Heitkamp. They resided at Burnside for a time, then moved to near Round Lake, Minn., later to Harris, Iowa where they farmed for many years. The then moved to Burnside several years ago. Mr. Crist was member of the Baptist church at Burnside. He had been ill the past several months with leukemia and passed awan on Wednesday, Feb. 3rd.
Survivors are his widow, 3 sons, Maurice of Ocheyedan, Raymond of Lehigh and Robert of Harris and 3 daughters, Mrs. Harley Moffitt of Harris., Mrs. Wm Kane of Everly and Mrs. Henry Hattendorf Sr. of Ocheyedan. Also surviving are 13 grandchildren, one great-grandson and the following brothers and sisters: Arthur Crist and Mrs. Harry Miller both of St. Petersburg, Fla.,Neil Crist of Kawanee, Ill., Warren Crist, residing in California, George Crist of Detroit, Mich., Raymond Crist of Piper, Ill; Homer Crist, Monrovia, Calif., Mrs. Emma Anderson of Decatur, Ill., and Mrs. Christ Kemerer of East Peoria, Ill.
