Obituary of Mrs. Martha M. Knisely
Mrs. Martha M. Knisely, 84, of Claysburg, who served as a cook for the Claysburg-Kimmel School District for 15 years, died at 6 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 20, 1980, at Nason Hospital.
Friends were received at the Leslie Funeral Home, Claysburg, and services were held Saturday at Christ Lutheran Church, Claysburg, by the Rev. Robert T. Zuch.
Burial was in Claysburg Union Cemetery.
She was born at Klahr, March 17, 1895, the daughter of Jeremiah and Ellen (Musselman) Black, and was twice married, first on Dec. 23, 1916, to Blair Weyant, who died Jan. 23, 1939, and then on Aug. 5, 1960, at Stephens City, Va., to David B. Knisely, who died June 1, 1979.
Mrs. Knisely was a member of the Christ Lutheran Chruch.
Surviving are four children, George Weyant, Mrs. Marie Van Tassel and Francis Weyant of York and Bruce Weyant of Pontiac, Mich.; seven step-children, Arthur L. Knisely of Osterburg RD, Mrs. Genevieve Ganzenhuber of Altoona; John Knisely and Harry E. Knisely of Imler RD, and David E. Knisely, Mrs. Helen F. Finnegan and Mrs. Violet Finnegan of Claysburg RD; 18 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and a brother Chester of Claysburg RD.
