Dean West Bitter, age 63, died July 21, 1993, at his home in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Born May 7, 1930, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to William Ericksen and Myrtle Irene West Bitter. Married Colleen Coray, March 7, 1959. She died December 25, 1990.

Active member of the LDS Church. Served French LDS Mission, 1950-1952. Former bishop of the Douglas Ward. Veteran, U.S. Army, Korean War Era. Graduated from East High School and the University of Utah. Taught Navajo children in Bluff, Utah and was a Special Education teacher in the Salt Lake School District.

Survived by children, David C. Bitter (wife, Tracy), Zerinda Bitter Kritz, (husband, Benjamin David), Benjamin C. Bitter, and Annabelle Bitter; granddaughter, Chloe Colleen Bitter; brother and sisters, Faye Briggs, Dr. Marcus K. Bitter, Barbara Meese, Janet Barrus (husband, Rondo). Preceded in death by brother, W. West Bitter.

Funeral services will be held Friday, July 23, 1993, 12 noon, Douglas LDS Ward, 721 South 12th East. Friends may call at Larkin Mortuary, 260 East South Temple, Thursday, 6-8 p.m. and Friday at the ward, 10:45-11:45 a.m., prior to services. Interment, Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
