Helen worked for many years at the ACME plant in Allegheny, New York, and the Better Baked Foods in North East, Pa. Helen was a member of the Federated Church in East Springfield, where she was a member of the Senior Center. She enjoyed working on plastic canvas projects and then putting candy in them and passing them out to many people. She was noted for her cooking and her baking. She also enjoyed camping with her sister, Arlouine, and playing piano and singing with her other sister, Fran.
Besides her parents, Helen is preceded in death by her husband, Willard Stives; two sons, Steve and Butch Stives; three sisters: Marion, Hazel, and Dorothy; and two brothers, Bob and Clyde Canfield.
Helen is survived by her son, Mike Stives and his long-time companion, Nancy Taylor, of Conneaut, Ohio; and two sisters, Arlouine Magee of Allegheny, N.Y. and Fran Haines of Machias, N.Y. She is also survived by two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
