Olivia P. Cabot died at home on August 27, 2015.

She was born in Los Angeles, CA, to parents of Irish and Italian ancestry.

Her mother an actress, father an actor and later a U.S. Senator, preceded her in death. The love of her life, her husband Hugh Cabot III, an American master painter, preceded her in death in 2005.

Olivia at the young age of 16 worked as an columnist for a Los Angeles newspaper until she received a scholarship to study art in Rome, Italy. There she earned a doctorate in art history.

Because of her love for art, she opened her first art gallery in Beverly Hills, CA, at the age of 20. From there she went to New York City and opened a gallery. Longing to go back to the West, she moved to New Mexico and had two more successful galleries in Taos and Santa Fe.

After several years she moved her gallery to Sedona, AZ, which was the very first one there. That is where she met her husband Hugh in 1967 and married soon after in Mexico City, where they lived for a couple of years.

Her final move was to Tubac, AZ. They opened their gallery in 1972 in the village of Tubac. She continued working there until her death.

Hugh always credited his success with the working partnership they had. He painted, and she managed the complex business end.

Olivia was a spirited, lively, and unforgettable person. She had many friuends all over the world. The art community of Tubac and all other friends will greatly miss her.

A celebration of life will be given at a later date.
