Lucille (Bookout) Grantham 90 of Walnut Grove passed away on Friday morning September 11, 2015 in the Ash Grove Health Care Center, Ash Grove, MO.
Lucille, the daughter of Clem and Virgie (Shade) Bookout was born, November 30, 1924 in Branson, MO. She grew up in the Branson area and Graduated from Branson High School in 1942, She attended S.M.S. now (M.S.U.) and received her Bachelor of Education Degree. Lucille taught elementary education in the Walnut Grove School System retiring after 30 years of service. She was a longtime active member of the Walnut Grove 1st Baptist Church, active in the W.M.U. and taught Sunday School for many years.
Lucille Bookout and Gene Grantham were united in marriage , May 23, 1948. Gene preceded her in death January 29, 1993. Also, preceding her were her parents two brothers; Fred and Buddy Bookout and sister; Jane Bookout.
She survived by her loving family; daughter, Nita and husband Ken Surritte and son, Randy and wife Janice Grantham. Four grandchildren; Amanda and Josh Grantham and Kendra Surritte and Kelsey and husband Jeremy Baldwin. and three great grandchildren Ted, T.J. and Chevy.
Interment in GreeneLawn Cemetery, Walnut Grove, MO.
